1. Xander Hitzig
Xander Hitzig is featured as the “Hollow” half of the Americana folk duet known as Desert Hollow. Almost solely self taught, play’s fiddle, guitar, and tenor banjo; using the music of his inspirations as his guide. And it is apparent to anyone who hears his songs today, the influence of John Hartford, Jimi Hendrix, Tom Waits, and John Prine all resound in a foot-tapping, heart awakening sound that draws crowds all over the United States. Whether he is playing in sold out venues, or simply for heart on side streets, Xander Hitzig has a life and a charisma that is hard to find today in modern music. Xander has been touring across the U.S. for the past ten years with multiple bands, most notably the BrownChicken BrownCow Stringband, the Hitzig Brothers and Desert Hollow, and has recently been producing music from his own solo endeavors.
2. Christine Corey and Josh Hearl
Christine Corey is a singer song writer, band leader, and swing dancer. She performs a wide variety of music including swing, blues, country, folk, traditional songs, oldies, and originals. Her most recent release, The Dog Walkers – Mighty Jetty, is available on Band Camp and many other platforms.
Josh Hearl
Josh Hearl plays well beyond his years. His touch, feel and understanding of music make him one of the most talented guitarists in Hawaii. Josh was born on the east coast and raised in Maui. He started playing guitar the when he was 12 and was taught by some of Maui’s premier musicians. After graduating from high school in 2012 he started working with local musicians including Gene Argel, Shea Derrick, Natalie Nicole, The Chop Suey orchestra, Jay Molina and many other talented artists. He’s also getting well known on the studio circuit too. When he’s not gigging or recording he can be found working on his family’s farm in Kula.
3. Michael Hebert
Michael Hebert was Born on the Bayou in Thibodaux, Louisiana. Before he moved to Maui 9 years ago, he spent 8 years living in the French Quarter of New Orleans, which provided the inspiration for his songwriting of love lost, life’s challenges and redemption. Please come take your soul for a stroll down the streets of New Orleans.
Join us the first Sunday of each month at spectacular Ocean Distillery located at 4051 Oma’opio Road in Kula for fantastic Maui sunsets, music, friends, food, and mouth-watering cocktails. And help support Maui’s favorite radio station, Mana’o Radio!
