Mana’o Radio is proud to partner with St. John’s Episcopal Church to present the 40th Annual St. John’s Kula Festival in Keokea on Saturday, September 27, 2025 from 9am – 4pm!

All support matters and we are thrilled to be a part of this community event with this year’s proceeds going to benefit Grow Some Good.
Come out and join us as we will be hosting an amazing line-up of performers including: Isle of Maui Pipe Band, Miss Viv, Cheryl Rae, Kenny Roberts, Danyel Alana, Benny Uyetake and Halau Hula Wehena o ke Ao.
Highlights of this year’s upcountry tradition also include:
Ono Local Food, Kids Games, Baked Goods, Homemade Fudge, Silent Auction, Crafters & Vendors, Gifts, Quilt Show, Upcountry Farmer’s Market, Flowers, Produce and Plants.
$2.00 Admission fee (kids under 12 are free).
Located across from Keokea Park, take the Kula Islander Bus #39.

Halau Hula Wehena o ke Ao

Halau Hula Wehena o ke Ao, under the direction of kumu hula Maka’ala Palmore, is deeply honored to perpetuate and preserve the hula legacy and values of Aunty Gordean Leilehua Bailey in the tradition of Aunty Ma’iki Aiu Lake. The upcountry Maui halau is based in Kula and is dedicated to working and living out of aloha and aloha ‘āina through the discipline of hula.


Miss Viv

Vivien Bennett-Felipe - Miss V.I.V.

Vivien Bennett-Felipe AKA “Miss V.I.V.” Is in her senior year of high school at King Kekaulike High School. She has always been interested in music, beginning with Benny Uyetake and the Kalama Ukulele Band during her intermediate school days. She then went on to join the King Kekaulike Choir, as well as taking Music Theory under Casey Nagata. She now plays in a duo with her dad, Darin, as well as playing with her band VIV (roman numerals 515 meaning “New Beginnings”). Her future plans are to attend college striving for a Business degree, while minoring in music. Cheryl Rae

Cheryl Rae will perform at the Mana'o Radio Sunset Sundays event

Maui based artist, Cheryl Rae has been performing for 25 years in Hawaii as well as SE Asia & Washington state. She’s an experienced Songwriter with a demonstrated history of working in the entertainment industry, skilled in Original Music, Bass, Audio Recording, Guitar Playing, and Music Composition. Strong arts and design professional with an Associates degree focused in Voice and Opera from London College of Music. Cheryl has performed with and shared the stage with Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson, Henry Kapono, Mick Fleetwood, Steve Grimes, Gretchen Rhodes, Gail Swanson, John Cruz and many other respected musicians.

 


Kenny Roberts

Kenny Roberts

Kenny K Roberts, a musician based in Kihei, Maui, is known for his solo and collaborative performances, often blending “island jams” with creative covers. He’s described as a professional, passionate singer-songwriter and performer, bringing the spirit of Aloha to his music. He performs regularly in Kihei, including solo shows on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and with “Elua Kane” (with Kawika) on Wednesdays.



Danyel Alana

Funk Rock Island Soul’ best describes this guitarist, singer & songwriter. Danyel has a musical style that reflects her roots of growing up on the beaches of LA & the Hawaiian Islands. Whether solo on acoustic or electric with a band, her unbridled guitar style & powerful vocals fuel the passion in her versatile, dynamic & high energy performances! Raised in a family of artists & musicians, Danyel Alana followed the family footsteps. Danyel Alana has now been performing & touring off and on over 25 years, gaining a strong regional following in the pacific northwest. She’s opened for, recorded or performed with, many artists’ across Hawaii, mainland US, Canada, & Japan over the years. Benny Uyetake

Maui’s musical treasure, Uncle Benny Uyetake, is a beloved educator and music icon with a zest for life will share his guitar and ukulele dexterity across a spectrum of genres including classical, jazz, Hawaiian, blues and rock. Music has always been a passion of the life of a guitarist, composer, and entertainer, Benny C. Uyetake. Still, there has always been the nucleus of his passion which includes his family, friends, education, and occupation. These components of Benny’s life carved the pathway of his journey through music. Music teacher by day, performer at night–Benny Uyetake is the Maui’s ‘ukulele superman. His passion for entertaining started at a young age, and sharing his knowledge of music and performing is second nature. Benny plays music that touches his soul: contemporary, old style Hawaiian, rhythm and blues, soul, Jazz and rock.
