Internationally acclaimed cellist and composer Georgy Gusev returns to Maui after nearly a year to debut his one-man show, “The Lost Cello.”
“The Lost Cello” tells the captivating story of Euro-Asian history and cultures, thought the prism of Maestro Gusev’s personal cello – the family treasure. Crafted in St. Petersburg in 1911 for Maestro Gusev’s great-grandfather, this cello was lost for over 70 years after the October Bolshevik revolution. Found by Maestro Gusev’s mother and many years later brought all the way to Maui by Maestro Gusev himself to tell the story of love, betrayal, seduction, inspiration, loss, reunion… “The Lost Cello” is a musical play filled with poetry and original music performed on Cello and Piano by Georgy Gusev.
