“I’m a Mana’o Radio DJ because it’s non-commercial, free form and adventurous independent radio, island style. The station offers such a wonderful opportunity to connect with our local as well as global community and celebrate diversity through music! Mana’o Radio is a collective endeavor and a labor of love by all those involved. Through the privilege of having access to the airwaves, our programming reflects a broad spectrum of musical artistry that is intelligent and relevant, without following mass trends and promotes a great deal of critically acclaimed, yet commercially ignored music. I’m its biggest fan!”

My background in music started at a very early age. My father was a Latin/Jazz musician who played alto sax and flute in a band in New York City. At every family gathering, there was always live music or records playing and on a daily basis, the radio was always on. Growing up in New York City, I had the good fortune to have access to a wide range of culture through the arts, especially music and dance. Since then, I’ve traveled a great deal and lived many places, which has deepened my appreciation of musical diversity. The very first time I visited Maui, as with everywhere I travel, I turned on the radio and discovered Mana’o Radio. The love affair was immediate! I’m so pleased to be a part of this family.
