Mana’o Radio is excited to host Internationally renowned cellist and composer Georgy Gusev as he presents his new one-man show “Following the Winds,” on the stage of Maui ProArts Theatre before leaving Maui for another world tour.
Following The Winds is a musical play that tells the story of a most influential force of nature – a wind. What unites the myths about the Hawaiian Paka’a, the Japanese Fūjin, the Egyptian Amun or, say, the Slavic Stribog?… Wind – a force that moves and feeds one of four major Earth elements not only inspired humans of different nations to discover new lands but has also been one of the most influential elements in arts history for thousands of years.
What is hidden in the magical power of the wind and how does it influence the artist in his creation?
Fascinating stories by Georgy Gusev rhymed with his original musical compositions uniquely performed on cello and piano will inspire us in “Following the Winds.”
